State-level healthcare systems unprepared for older adults' population growth

With the American public aging at a rapid pace and more than $300 billion spent on healthcare for older adults, the role of states to protect and enhance the health of older Americans is more crucial than ever, reports a new study released by the Chronic Disease Directors (CDD) and the National Association of State Units on Aging (NASUA).

The study, "The Aging States Project: Promoting Opportunities for Collaboration Between the Public Health and Aging Services Networks," was funded through a collaboration between the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Administration on Aging.
