$6M contract awarded to develop CpG immunostimulatory TLR9 agonists

Coley Pharmaceutical Group announced that the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded an additional $6M to Coley to support the clinical development of Coley's CpG immunostimulatory TLR9 agonists to enhance anthrax vaccines.

This brings to $12M the total amount in contracts granted directly to Coley by DARPA in the last 18 months.

The research at Coley stems from an initial $4MM grant awarded in 1999 to Arthur M. Krieg, MD, senior VP and chief scientific officer of Coley, when he was a professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa.
