Vaccine research efforts for filoviruses reviewed

A researcher has published a review of current research into developing vaccines for filoviruses in the International Journal for Parasitology.

According to a study from the United States, "Ebola and Marburg viruses belong to the family Filoviridae, and cause acute, frequently fatal, hemorrhagic fever in humans and nonhuman primates. No vaccines are available for human use."
