Medicare reimbursement rates posted for VNS therapy

Beginning January 2004, Medicare will reimburse hospitals on average a total of approximately $24,071 for the outpatient implantation and intra-operative programming of VNS Therapy Systems as follows: $12,832 under new APC 0039 for implantation of neurostimulator and $11,239 under existing APC 0225 for implantation of neurostimulator electrodes.
