Biomaterials company announces EPS of $0.23 for second quarter, up 44%

Kensey Nash Corp. (KNSY) announced record earnings of $0.23 per share for its second fiscal quarter of 2004, ahead of its previous guidance of $0.19-.20.

These earnings were up 44% from the $0.16 reported a year ago. Total revenues for the second quarter increased 30% to $13.7 million compared to $10.5 million in the prior year period.

Net sales increased 26% to $8.0 million from $6.4 million in the comparable quarter of the prior fiscal year. Royalty income from Angio-Seal sales increased 42% to $5.6 million from $3.9 million. Net income for the quarter increased 54% to $2.8 million compared to $1.8 million for the prior-year period.
