FDA approves acupressure wristband for nausea

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Sea-Band International clearance to market the "Sea-Band" acupressure wristband for the relief of nausea caused by motion sickness, morning sickness, chemotherapy, and postoperative nausea.

The bands are available over-the-counter at most pharmacies and supermarkets.

Borrowing from the ancient Chinese principle of acupuncture, Sea-Bands work by exerting a constant, gentle pressure on a point on the inner wrist called the Pericardium 6 acupressure point, long known to relieve feelings of nausea.
