This is probably not an issue that many people have thought about, and if they have, there is no consensus about it. A 51% to 31% majority believes, wrongly, that a doctor can prescribe drugs only for the diseases for which they have been approved (51%), and that
1) A 48% to 31% plurality believes that doctors "should not be allowed" to prescribe a drug for diseases for which that drug has not been approved by the FDA, and
