Pre-IND meeting held with FDA for platelet aggregation inhibitor

Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (ISPH) announced that a pre-Investigational New Drug (IND) meeting was held on July 29 with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for INS50589 Cardiovascular. This product candidate is being investigated as an intravenously administered reversible platelet aggregation inhibitor that may be useful in preventing platelet activation and protecting platelet function during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures, thereby potentially reducing surgical and post-surgical complications.
