Bariatric program collaborates with Michigan Medical to offer new band procedure

Spectrum Health and Michigan Medical P.C. (MMPC), a multi-specialty physician group, announced that their collaborative bariatric program is offering Lap-Band, a surgical procedure used to treat severely obese patients.

Lap-Band is a minimally invasive surgical solution that induces weight loss by restricting food intake. The procedure involves the placement of an adjustable silicone elastic band on the upper part of the stomach, typically using a laparoscopic (small incision) technique.
