Improved strategies to prevent childhood lead poisoning reported

Researchers suggest strategies to prevent childhood lead poisoning using local data in a recent issue of the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health.

According to a study from the United States, "Lead poisoning remains an important, yet entirely preventable, disease among children worldwide. Children's blood lead levels (BLLs) have been declining in the United States; however, nearly half a million children have BLLs {{>=}}10 mcg/dL, the level targeted for elimination by 2010.
