Researchers describe findings in avian influenza studies

Avian influenza research advances have been reported from the United States, China and Thailand.

Study 1: The molecular properties from highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza virus isolates in South Korea were characterized.

According to a recently published report from the United States, "An unprecedented outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been reported for poultry in eight different Asian countries, including South Korea, since December 2003.
