Expanded indications for bioblanket soft tissue repair patch

Kensey Nash Corporation (KNSY) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has allowed expanded indications of its BioBlanket Surgical Mesh.

The expanded indications specifically allow the product to be used for the repair of hernias and reinforcement of soft tissue in rotator cuff repair surgery, two of the important target markets for the technology. The expanded indication also allows the product to be used in a wide variety of other surgical procedures, including repair of defects in the thoracic wall, rectal, and pelvic floor reconstruction procedures, among others.
