Healthcare providers notified of adverse events from Menactra meningococcal vaccine

Sanofi pasteur, the vaccines business of the sanofi-aventis Group (SNY), is alerting customers of five reports it has received through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) of Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) following administration of Menactra meningococcal vaccine.

All customers who have received shipments of Menactra vaccine are being contacted and informed of these reports and reminded of the importance of reporting vaccine adverse events.

Sanofi pasteur supports an immediate and thorough investigation of all aspects of these reported cases and is working closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Centers for...
