Regeneron receives fast-track designation for the IL-1 Trap in CIAS1-associated periodic syndromes

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (REGN) announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has granted fast-track designation to the IL-1 Trap program for the improvement of chronic inflammation in patients with CIAS1-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS), a spectrum of rare genetic disorders.

The fast-track designation is designed to facilitate the development and potentially expedite the review of new therapeutic medicines intended to treat serious conditions for which there is an unmet medical need.
