Researchers at Charite University release new data on legionnaire disease physiology
Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, February 11th, 2007
Current study results from the report, "Legionella pneumophila-induced PKCalpha-, MAPK-, and NF-kappaB-dependent COX-2 expression in human lung epithelium," have been published. "Legionella pneumophila causes community-and hospital-acquired pneumonia. Lung airway and alveolar epithelial cells comprise an important barrier against airborne pathogens," scientists writing in the American Journal of Physiology - Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology report.
