Biosecurity Director Calls on Texas Legislature to Fill Request for Antiviral Stockpiling

The Texas Legislature should fill the request by the Texas Department of State Health Services to protect a fourth of the state's population against an avian flu pandemic by purchasing an additional 2.3 million courses of antivirals at the Federally discounted price, said Scott R. Lillibridge, MD, the director of the Center for Biosecurity and Public Health Preparedness in Houston, who recently testified in Austin.
