Research results from Agricultural Research Service, Department of Agriculture update knowledge of pathology

New research, "Eicosanoid biosynthesis inhibitors increase the susceptibility of Lymantria dispar to nucleopolyhedrovirus LdMNPV," is the subject of a report. According to recent research published in the Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, "Eighteen pharmaceutical inhibitors of eicosanoid biosynthesis were tested for their effects on gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar and its susceptibility to the nucleopoly-hedrovirus LdMNPV. None of the inhibitors tested had any detrimental effects upon larval growth and development."
