Most Parents Are Unaware of Expanded CDC Flu Vaccination Recommendations

Only one in 10 parents is aware of the recommended age range for children to be vaccinated against the flu, according to a new survey. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expanded the flu vaccination recommendations in February 2008 to include all children from 6 months through 18 years old, expanding vaccinations to 30 million more school-age children.

The survey also found that during the past two years, nearly 60 percent of parents did not get their children vaccinated against the flu.
