Acacia Subsidiary Acquires Rights to Patent Portfolios for MEMS and Chip-Stacking Technologies

Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq:ACTG) announced that a subsidiary has acquired rights to two patent portfolios from a leading international research institute. The first patent portfolio generally relates to micromechanical components which can be integrated with electronic circuits to form microelectromechanical systems known as MEMS. This technology can be used in automobiles, medical devices, mobile phones and other consumer products.
