Burchfield Group launches Medicare Part D audit service

The Burchfield Group, a pharmacy benefit consulting firm that helps employers and managed care plans control and reduce the cost of providing prescription drug coverage for their participants, has launched a new audit service for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.

The audit service will ensure that the pharmacy benefit managers who administer these plans' drug claims are doing so appropriately and effectively.

The new Medicare Part D coverage options provide retiree drug coverage that was not previously available through Medicare. More than 40 million people qualify for Medicare's new prescription drug coverage options, which go into effect...
