Researchers from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, U.S., publish new HIV/AIDS data

New findings from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, U.S., describe advances in HIV/AIDS research.

Study 1: A molecularly cloned, replication-competent R5 simian-HIV encoding HIV clade C env is mucosally transmissible.

According to recently published research from the United States, "Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) clade C causes >50% of all HIV infections worldwide, and an estimated 90% of all transmissions occur mucosally with R5 strains.
