New thyroidectomy research has been reported by T.D. Duncan et al

According to a study from the United States, "The traditional thyroidectomy technique typically approaches the thyroid through a range of different sized transverse incisions in the neck. Such a scar con result in hypesthesias, paresthesias, and increased patient self-awareness."
