Toomey resigns as director of state Division of Public Health

Toomey, 53, gave no reason for her departure in a news release.
Agency spokesman Richard Quartarone said she wanted to pursue other opportunities and spend more time with family. Her resignation is effective January 15.
Ted Holloway, MD, director of the state's Southeast Health District, said Toomey was concerned that her division was not receiving enough attention within the parent agency, the state Department of Human Resources (DHR).
