Pennsylvania-New Jersey blood services group offers DNA molecular genotyping

The new Molecular Blood Group and Platelet Testing Laboratory welcomes patient and donor samples for genetic testing for blood group and platelet antigens.
Along with blood groups ABO and Rh, there are 23 other blood group systems known. Although ABO and Rh are the most important donor and patient blood types that must be matched for blood transfusion, the other blood groups can also sometimes cause incompatibility and transfusion reactions.
