Localized renal cell carcinoma patients had worse prognosis with than without capsular invasion

Localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients with renal capsular invasion had a worse prognosis than those without capsular invasion.

"[The study's aim was] to analyze the prognostic value of capsular invasion without perinephric fat infiltration in patients with localized RCC Stage pT1-pT2N0M0. A total of 288 patients with RCC (conventional type) confined to the kidney (pT1-pT2N0M0) who underwent radical nephrectomy from January 1993 to November 2004 at our institution were included in our study," scientists in South Korea reported.
