Researchers from the United States and Canada report recent findings in obesity

Obesity research advances have been reported from the United States and Canada.

Study 1: Myocardial lipid content may be a biomarker for cardiac disease in obese patients.

According to a recent review published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine, "Obesity is a major risk factor for heart disease. In the face of obesity's growing prevalence, it is important for physicians to be aware of emerging research of novel mechanisms through which adiposity adversely affects the heart."
