For idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients, a simple walk test predicts mortality rates

A new study of individuals with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients awaiting lung transplantation has found that those who can cover less than 680 feet during a six-minute walk test are four times more likely to die than those who can walk greater distances. The research appears in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, published by the American Thoracic Society. David J.
