Report 1: Nancy H. Nielsen, M.D., Ph.D., a board-certified internist from Buffalo, N.Y., today was named president-elect of the American Medical Association (AMA), the nation's largest and most influential physician organization.
Following a year-long term as president-elect, Dr. Nielsen will assume the office of AMA president in June 2008. She will be the second woman to hold the AMA's highest elected office.
