Research reports on diabetes therapy from Hannover Medical School, Department of Gastroenterology provide new insights

A new study, 'Role of regulatory T cells for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus,' is now available. According to recent research published in the journal Hormone and Metabolic Research, "Beta-cell specific autoreactive T cells can be found in patients with type I diabetes (T1D) and in healthy controls. They are usually controlled by a network of regulatory mechanisms including CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs)."
