Newly Formed Neuroscience Advisory Council Emphasizes Need to Better Recognize/Diagnose Adult ADHD

Adult ADHD is too often misunderstood and under-recognized by practitioners resulting in significantly poorer quality of life and treatment outcomes for patients; and is often masked by other comorbid conditions, making recognition and diagnosis even more difficult. "Unidentified ADHD is a missed opportunity to succeed in life, in marriage or in work. I see the clear need for early and accurate identification of ADHD in all clinical settings. This is an urgent, pressing and immediate need," states Dr. David Scheiderer, a prominent psychiatrist in Virginia and a member of the newly formed Neuroscience Advisory Council (NAC).
