Research from Medical School yields new data on schizophrenia genetics

Research findings, 'Investigation of serum BDNF levels in drug-naive patients with schizophrenia,' are discussed in a new report. According to a study from Greece, "The role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is to promote and modulate the neuronal responses across neurotransmitter systems in the brain. Therefore, abnormal BDNF signaling may be associated with the pathophysiology of schizophrenia."
