The introduction of new antipsychotic drug formulations is likely to improve compliance rates among the mentally ill by providing patients with additional treatment options. Currently, lack of medical compliance can be attributed to the adverse side effects of antipsychotics and the supposed social stigma attached with mental illnesses.
