Socioeconomic status affects attitudes toward eating and weight

Researchers report the socioeconomic variation in attitudes toward eating and weight in female adolescents in a recent issue of Health Psychology. According to published research from England, "This study was stimulated by Sobal and Stunkard's (1989) theory that differences in deliberate weight control could underlie the socioeconomic gradient in adult weight.
