Study: Brain monitoring predicts treatment response in depressed patients

Interim analysis of a study being performed at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) has demonstrated that Aspect Medical Systems' (ASPM) brain monitoring technology was able to predict the effectiveness of antidepressant medications in treating depressed patients with 83% accuracy. The study, which is currently being conducted at the Depression Clinical and Research Program at MGH and Harvard Medical School, was presented at the New Clinical Drug Evaluation Unit meeting, sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health.
