Chicago VITAS hospice care programs earn National Institute of Jewish Hospice certification

The National Institute for Jewish Hospice (NIJH) has certified the three VITAS Innovative Hospice Care programs in Chicago, Illinois, as Jewish hospices, which enables each program to address the needs of all Jewish patients on religious and ethnic observance. The certification class was conducted by NIJH officers Rabbi Maurice Lamm and Rabbi David Lamm, and by Rabbi Barry Kinzbrunner, MD, FACP, VITAS senior vice president and chief medical officer. In addition to VITAS' Chicago participants, the event was attended by members of VITAS' Milwaukee and Atlanta programs.
