Iowa to Receive Grant Funding for Youth Suicide Prevention, Early Intervention



June 18th, 2007

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced that it anticipates making awards totaling $1.2 million over three years to the state of Iowa to implement the Youth Suicide Prevention/Early Intervention Project. The first year award is $400,000. This grant will provide screening, assessment and referral to early intervention and treatment services for youth suicide prevention within educational settings.
