New addiction medicine research from Center for Addiction and Mental Health described

Research findings, "Illegal drug-attributable morbidity in Canada 2002," are discussed in a new report. According to recent research published in the journal Drug and Alcohol Review, "Use of illegal drugs is an important behavioral risk factor for burden of morbidity in developed countries. The objective was to estimate the number of diagnoses in acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitalizations, admissions in specialized treatment, and number of days in treatment attributable to use of illegal drugs for Canada in 2002."
