CD44S Expression Correlates with Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma

CD44S expression correlates with disease progression in patients with renal clear cell carcinoma, researchers from the United States reported.

"Recent reports have shown altered expression of CD44 in renal cell carcinomas," wrote M. Z. Gilcrease and colleagues from the University of Texas, SW Medical School, Texas. "However, to our knowledge there are no data correlating CD44 expression in renal cell carcinomas with subsequent turner progression or recurrence, nor is there information about the presence of particular splice variants of CD44 in these tumors."
