K.M. Sailor et al. conducted a study to determine if the poor performance of AD patients on tasks that require them to use semantic memory is related to their inability to identify specific semantic relations ("Evidence for an Impaired Ability to Determine Semantic Relations in Alzheimer's Disease Patients," Neuropsychology, October 1998;12(4):555-564).
