Study Results May Change the Way Physicians Treat Early Stage Disease

SmithKline Beecham's Requip (ropinirole hydrochloride) successfully managed Parkinson's disease symptoms for up to five years with a low risk of developing dyskinesia, according to a study published in the May 18, 2000, issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.

Dyskinesias are severe, uncontrollable, jerky body movements that plague many Parkinson's disease patients and in many cases are associated with levodopa therapy.
