Risk of preeclampsia is increased in women with adult weight gain, prepregnancy overweight

"Preeclampsia has been shown to be associated with obesity, with other risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and with subsequent cardiovascular disease itself However, the possible association with weight gain and weight cycling has not been evaluated," asserted scientists at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
