Younger children and those from rural areas were most likely to weigh too much, according to the study from the University of Georgia and the Georgia Prevention Institute at the Medical College of Georgia.
Fourth-graders, the youngest group measured, were the fattest. Nearly 25% were classified as overweight, and almost 42% were considered too heavy. Nationally, 15% of children in that age group are considered overweight.
