NIH funding to support trials of rhLF gel

Agennix, Inc., announced that it was awarded a phase I/II Fast Track Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant to test the safety and efficacy of recombinant human lactoferrin (rhLF) gel in patients with diabetic neuropathic foot ulcers.

The grant was awarded by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The phase I $100,000 award has already been released to support the initial clinical safety component of the study. The $750,000 phase II award will support a randomized, placebo controlled, efficacy trial. The phase II funds will be released via a Streamlined...
