Scientists identify "body's thermostat"

University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) scientists have identified a new protein that detects changes in glucose, the blood sugar that fuels body function.

Reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the discovery could lead to the development of new drugs to combat diabetes and obesity.
