Emotionally rewarding changes help people reach healthy weight

In the war against obesity, parents must recognize their own need to alter deeply ingrained habits and behaviors and change personal surroundings in an emotionally rewarding way to establish a healthy environment for kids, according to a panel of weight-management behavior experts.

The panel was convened by the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition (ACFN), in Texas at the American Dietetic Association (ADA) 2003 Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo.
