Arterial wall stiffness has a strong impact on peripheral circulation in type 2 diabetics. According to published research from Japan, "The prevalence of peripheral vascular disease (PVD) in diabetic patients is manyfold higher than that of age- and sex-matched nondiabetic subjects." A.
