Chromium picolinate may benefit patients with insulin resistance

Nutrition 21, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXXI), a developer of chromium-based nutritional products, presented results from research studies on two of its novel products containing chromium picolinate, at the first-ever Annual World Congress on Insulin Resistance Syndrome, held in Los Angeles.

According to the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), a co-sponsor of the Congress, insulin resistance syndrome (also identified as metabolic syndrome) is a physiological metabolic problem, characterized by decreased tissue sensitivity to the action of insulin.
