FDA grants second major patent for insulin delivery patch

SpectRx, Inc., (SPRX) was granted a second significant patent for its SimpleChoicepatch insulin pump infusion set.

U.S. Patent No. 6,659,982 is the second patent issued for the new patch infusion technology. Additional patent applications are pending. The patch is for use with insulin pumps worn by people with diabetes to control their insulin levels.

The annual U.S. insulin pump infusion set market is approximately $270 million.
