Biotech plans IPO

MannKind Corp. has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement relating to the proposed initial public offering of its common stock. All of the shares are to be sold by the company. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined. UBS Securities, LLC, will be acting as the sole book-runner of this offering. Piper Jaffray & Co. will be a co-lead manager and Wachovia Capital Markets, Jefferies & Co., and Harris Nesbitt Gerard will be comanagers of the offering.
