Mark J. Gainor invests in medical device company

Mark J. Gainor, a healthcare entrepreneur and venture capitalist who invests primarily in diabetes- and healthcare-related businesses, announced at the American Diabetes Association conference that he has made a significant investment in Specialty Medical Supplies, a manufacturer and distributor of innovative medical devices primarily for the diabetes marketplace.

Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Specialty Medical Supplies, a privately held company of over 200 employees, was established in 1999. Based in Coral Springs, Florida, it has manufacturing facilities in China. The company's products include Safety Lancets and Easy Twist...
